Poetic Story by Anooradha Rughoonundun (France)
presented on 30 June 2018 at Saint-Vit (France)
Salt cane is a word of the dead, a word of memoires and of origins. It arises between story and poem, raw and unfiltered, to speak the world it is passing through. A world migrating, mutating, hybrid, but smoothed, emptied of colonial heritage, drained by monocultures, deforested. Salt cane is the story of a girl for whom the world is a sugar cane field.
