Crafty Forest #1
This installation invites you to listen to the rustling of a group of magic trees, each of which delivers a curious message, if you pay close attention. The messages emanate from the greatest writers and philosophers who, from Antiquity to the present day, have written about trees. With our ears glued to the bark, we hear La Fontaine’s unfortunate oak compete with the no-less famous horse chestnut from Sartre’s “Nausea“. A humble tribute to Alain Corbin, whose anthological book “The Shade of Gentleness” (“La Douceur de l’Ombre”) is an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
