At the heart of the forests of her adopted home, Costa Rica, Myriam Grosso took up the ancient ancestral Indian techniques of terra cotta. The objects are produced on-site based on pods and tropical fruits, which are as if frozen in volcanic lava. These curious pieces still smell like sulfur, from the fertility-bringing primordial magma which led us to our bushiest woods. The forest is a part of the history of the Earth, and we can bet that its condition is also an indication of the future. There will be Herculaneum or Pompei in these sculptures if we aren’t careful…
