Disappearance
Installation by Corinne Forsans (France)
presented on 27 June 2015 at La Vieille Loye (France)
“Disparution” is a rare and archaic form of the word “disparition” (“disappearance”), the act of disappearing, or ceasing to exist. Freely inspired by artists she admires such as Georges Rousse and Liu Bolin, the work of Corinne Forsans aims to challenge the progressive disappearance of common species of the forest, such as ash and elm trees. To lose these trees is to lose part of the biodiversity and thus the essential role of the forest in our planet’s operation.
