Pollen, Evidence of past Landscapes

The current landscapes are put in place over time under the influence of several factors. Initially, vegetation developed in response to climate changes. Then, with the beginning of agriculture, 6000 years before our era, Humankind became the primary factor influencing the environment. In order to recreate the history of our landscapes, scientists use an indispensable archive: the pollen grain. The discipline which studies ancient pollens is called palynology; this workshop is an opportunity for you to learn more about it.
